Point 1: Welcome to San Vito Sul Cesano
San Vito is a medieval village located at 354 meters above sea level and represents one of the most characteristic “natural balconies” of the entire Cesano river valley.

Point 2: the parish church of San Vito sul Cesano
It was rebuilt on the walls of the old Church, but with a new and vague Baroque style design with a single nave, with the addition of the large chapel and semicircle choir.

Point 3: the periodical ``La Nostra Valle``
This periodical was created by the parish priest of San Vito sul Cesano, Don Fauno Binotti, born in 1925 who remained parish priest since 1948. He managed to propagate the periodical all over Italy and a bit all over the world, despite coming from this tiny edge of the countryside.

In a not too distant time, San Vito sul Cesano was inhabited by many families, and the silence of its orderly alleys was broken only by the laughs of the children playing, and by the voices of the busy women, who came from the open windows adorned with vases of flowers.

Point 6: the common oven and the mutual aid society
We are in front of the place where once there was the shared oven. Once upon a time there was Mrs. Teresa, mother of Gino Franceschetti, the blacksmith of San Vito sul Cesano, who managed the community oven, paying the rent to the municipality of San Lorenzo in Campo, the oven’s owner.

Point 7: schools
In the past, in the building where we are now, there were schools and there were only three classrooms: one for first elementary class, one for second elementary class and one for third elementary class. In another building nearby, where now there is the San Vito Giovani Association, there was the fourth elementary class.

Point 8: the temple of SS. Sacramento
We are now in front of an ancient door and in front of the Temple of the SS. Sacramento, belonging to the Confraternity of the Sacrament, one of the most important and active in our area.

Point 9: historic buildings
It is possible to enter into the castle of San Vito sul Cesano by crossing the suggestive entrance door, a pointed arch surmounted by some noble coats of arms in sandstone which must certainly have known better times. In the village there are 3 important historic buildings.

Point 10: the statutes of San Vito and the province of Ravignana
We are now in the center of the village in its most characteristic square. There is a curious crank fountain to remind us that in the past, when running water did not exist, people came here to fill jars and terracotta jugs.

Point 11: sanctuary of Our Lady of Favors (Madonna delle Grazie)
The church is a brick building, and it is all that remains of the much larger and well-structured monastery of the past; it was definitively deconsecrated, approximately in the 1950s.

Here you can see the old public wash houses, located right here, under the city walls. In the past when you needed to wash your laundry, and there was neither running water nor washing machines in the houses, you went to the nearby river or precisely to these public wash houses.
