Point 12: typical products and contacts
We have reached the end of this tour of San Vito, we hope you enjoyed and appreciated it.
Before leaving we would like to remind you that our hills provide many typical products, strongly linked to the territory where they are grow. Their high quality is the result of the passion of people who produce them.
Thanks to its orography, this is a particularly suitable area for the production of wines, just remember the most famous Pergola Rosso Doc, here commonly called Vernaccia, or the visciolata or visciolato, red wine flavored with sour cherries, a kind of wild cherries, the fruit of Prunus Cerasus. The production of extra-virgin olive oil with the varieties frantoio, leccino, coratina and pendolino is also important.
The cultivation of the Cipolla di Suasa is important too, with an unmistakable red color outside and white inside, with a sweet and delicate flavour, an ancient onion that has always been present in our traditional dishes.
And let’s not forget the production of meat and cured meats, honey, cheese, spelled-based products, saffron, vegetables, beer and other delicacies to be discovered.
The symbol of San Vito sul Cesano is certainly the Bruschetta, in particular the Sanvitese De.Co variant, made with spelled bread, Suasa onion and extra virgin olive oil.
Now we would like to suggest to visit our local municipality San Lorenzo in Campo.
Starting from the Palazzo della Rovere, with its Archaeological Museum of the Territory of Suasa, where many artifacts found in the ancient Roman city of Suasa are exhibited, you can also visit the magnificent “Mario Tiberini” Theater.
Near the historic fountain, you will find the majestic Benedictine Abbey, one of the most beautiful Romanesque-Gothic churches in the Marche Region.
Finally we would like to remind you that it is possible to have guides available for a more detailed guide of our Borgo and to visit the interior of the Parish Church. The church can be visited only upon reservation.
The San Vito Giovani Association would like to thank you for visiting our San Vito village.
